Nasal swab of person died during treatment in isolation to be tested

Kathmandu - The throat and nasal swabs of an elderly woman who was kept in isolation at Old Medical College in Chitwan and died last night during the treatment would be tested. She died during treatment on Tuesday night. Umadevi BK, 60, of Khairahani municipality-12 in Chitwan was admitted to the Old Medical College for treatment.

She was suffering from high blood pressure, fever and asthma. Health Office, Chitwan’s chief Deepak Tiwari shared that the nasal and throat swabs of the deceased would be sent to Kathmandu for further test. The dead body has been kept at Bharatpur Hospital. Earlier, a youth from Birgunj, who was also kept in isolation at Hospital in Bharatpur had also died during the treatment. COVID-19 test was conducted on the youth but the result had come negative.
