Kathmandu–Nepal has won yet another gold medal in Wushu under the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG), 2019. Deepak Hamal clinched gold medal beating India's Saajan Lama in the competition held in the Army's covered hall at Lagankhel in Lalitpur today.
Deepak scored 19.32 points to bag the gold medal. Bangladesh's Amir Hussain got bronze medal in today's match.
Earlier on Tuesday, Nepal's Bijaya Sinjali and Susmita Tamang had also won gold medals. With this, Nepal has won 24 gold medals so far in the regional mega sport kicked off in Kathmandu on December 1.
Earlier, a dispute had been erupted after Sri Lanka's Tharidu got gold under Thaulo category. Nepali and Indian players as well as officials had staged protesting in the mat, claiming that the match was rigged.
The game was put off for around half an hour too. In the match, India's Gyadesh Singh had secured silver and Nepal's Hari Prasad Gole a bronze.
