Jyoti Prakash's new form of paintings on display at NAC

Kathmandu - A solo-painting exhibition titled Story of Motherland by artist Jyoti Prakash has opened at the Nepal Art Council (NAC) at Babar Mahal from Saturday. 

The paintings are painted in a new form where objects are drawn using white colour in completely white background, offering the art enthusiasts a new taste of striking opaque whiteness in paintings. 
There are altogether 11 such paintings with titles as Buddha in Misery, My Passport and Aishwarya, among others. 

Nepal Tourism Board Executive Director, Deepak Raj Joshi, inaugurated the art exhibition. He pressed for the development of artworks, arguing that artworks embodied the identity of society and country.
 
Lauding the new experiment of artist Jyoti Prakash, sculptor Sudarshan Rana stated that white colour, which is prominently used in the paintings, stood for peace. 

Similarly, art critic Mukesh Malla was of the view that artist, through his paintings, aims to project that peace prevails in white colours.
 
Another art critic Ramesh Khanal and senior artist Gehendra Man Amatya underscored the need for promotion of artworks in the country for they univocally argued that artworks were the pride of our country.
