Two killed after speeding Scorpio crashes into a roadside tree

Morang - At least two persons were killed on the spot in a crash involving a Scorpio jeep along Gothgaun stretch of East – West Highway in Sundarharaincha municipality of Morang district this morning. 

The east – bound jeep (Ba 16 Cha 4757) crashed into a tree at 4:30 am in high speed killing 32 – year – old Ram Prasad Rai of Pathari Shanischare municipality – 2 and 21 – year – old Bimala Rai of Kankai municipality of Jhapa, according to Area Police Office, Belbari's Inspector, Ramji Katuwal. 

18 – year – old Renu Rai of Bhadrapur – 1, Jhapa sustained serious injuries in the accident and has been receiving treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. 

The Scorpio jeep was completely disfigured in the full-blown impact with the tree. The driver of the vehicle has not made contact with the authorities. Police believe the driver could also have been injured in the accident.
