JSP Legitimacy Row: Resham Chaudhary stands neutral
KATHMANDU, July 26: Resham Chaudhary, an Executive Committee member of Janata Samjbadi Party (JSP), has opted to stay neutral amid the legitimacy row in the party.
Chaudhary, who was present at the Election Commission (EC) on Monday afternoon, said that he would join or support no faction in the party. A faction led by Upendra Yadav and the other by Mahatha Thakur have knocked at the poll body’s door claiming the legitimacy.
He reached the EC from Dillibazar. Chaudhary, who was also elected from Kailali-1 in the parliamentary elections in 2017, has been sentenced with life imprisonment on the charge of masterminding the Tikapur massacre in August 2015.
Chaudhary held consultations with the party leaders.
During his exit from the EC premises, he said that his only agency is justice.
