Communist Parties Support Pushpa Lal Marxist University in Pokhara

Pokhara. In the grand seminar on 'Pushpa Lal Marxist University: Possibilities and Challenges' organized in Pokhara by Pushpa Lal Marxist University and supported by Samajwadi Communist Party Nepal and All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation, communist/leftist forces active in Gandaki Province have expressed their support and suggested making the university effective nationwide as soon as possible.

In the seminar held in Pokhara Industrial Area, on the proposal paper 'Pushpa Lal Marxist University: Possibilities and Challenges' presented by Ashok Subedi, an activist of the Pushpa Lal Marxist University Mahabhiyan and General Secretary of Samajwadi Communist Party Nepal, leaders from Gandaki Province/Bureau level of Communist parties including Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal, Nepali Communist Party, CPN (UML), Nepal Communist Party (Majdoor), Nepal Communist Party, Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal, CPN (Maoist) commented that the concept of Pushpa Lal Marxist University is very relevant and important at a time when Marxist ideology and the communist movement are under attack from all sides, and emphasized its successful implementation.

In the seminar, Narayan Adhikari 'Nishchal', 6 No. Bureau In-charge of Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal, Navraj Sharma, Gandaki Province Chairman of CPN (UML), Gyanu Acharya, Central Member of Nepali Communist Party, Sujan BK, Gandaki Bureau In-charge of CPN (Majdoor), Bhakta Rasaili, Politburo Member of CPN, Bikash Lungeli, Advisor of Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal, senior leftist leader Sheshmani Acharya, Umesh CK, Secretary of Kaski District of CPN (Maoist), Ganesh Bahadur Ale, Chairman of Kaski District Bar Association, Biplav Thapa, Secretary of Kaski District of Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal, youth Maoist leader Kaji Gurung, and Professor Yadavraj Upadhyay of Prithvi Narayan Campus, among other speakers, expressed the view that the establishment of a Marxist university in Nepal is a significant matter for the oppressed classes worldwide. The speakers stated that although its possibilities are ample, national/international challenges exist, and all communists and leftists must face them by taking the support of the oppressed classes.

Rashtriya Janamorcha Gandaki Province has also expressed its support for the campaign.

The university management side informed that the seminar was organized in Pokhara on the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of Pushpa Lal, the founding general secretary of CPN. The seminar was presided over by Ishwar Budhathoki, Secretariat Member of Samajwadi Communist Party Nepal and Chairman of All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation, conducted by Kalibahadur Pandey, Secretariat Member of Samajwadi Communist Party Nepal and Gandaki Bureau In-charge, and welcomed by CB Basnyal, Secretariat Member of Samajwadi Communist Party Nepal and General Secretary of All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation. General Secretary Subedi inaugurated the seminar by lighting a red candle.

The university, which was inaugurated on Chaitra 24th in Ramchhap, Bhangery, and Sirjananagar, the birthplace of Pushpa Lal-Gangalal, and has already started its first batch of classes, was organized in Pokhara after a grand seminar in Kathmandu. University conceptualizer Subedi informed that seminars and classes will also be conducted in various provincial capitals and districts of the country thereafter.
