PM Oli denies having Swiss Bank account, ready for investigation

Kathmandu, January 13 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has clarified that the recent ordinance he introduced was not aimed at splitting any political party.

Speaking at a meeting with the newly elected delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) at his official residence in Baluwatar on Monday, Prime Minister Oli made this statement.

He said, "I did not bring the ordinance to split any party. There were rumors that the ordinance was issued at midnight, but we actually prepared it during the day."

Prime Minister Oli also explained that due to his long history of working as a volunteer, sometimes his work schedules would extend late into the night, which had been misinterpreted and led to false rumors. He urged journalists to be cautious about such 'misleading information.'

Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption, stating that he would never engage in corruption and is actively leading anti-corruption campaigns.

He also addressed recent misinformation circulating on social media, emphasizing the need to stop such anarchic behavior.

Oli specifically rejected claims of having money in a Swiss bank, challenging those who made the allegations to prove it. "If there's any truth to this, I'm willing to undergo an investigation, and I am ready to form a committee for the same," he stated.

Additionally, the leadership of the FNJ presented a six-point memorandum to Prime Minister Oli. In response, Oli expressed his commitment to fulfilling the demands outlined in the memorandum.
