RSP MPs urge Speaker not to suspend Rabi Lamichhane

Kathmandu, December 23 — Lawmakers from the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have urged Speaker Devaraj Ghimire not to suspend party leader Rabi Lamichhane from the House of Representatives.

RSP MPs Santosh Pariyar, Sobita Gautam, and Ganesh Parajuli, among others, met with the Speaker to raise concerns about not suspending Lamichhane from his parliamentary position.

Earlier, RSP leaders had consulted with legal experts at the parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.

Following the filing of a case against Lamichhane on Sunday, accusing him of cooperative fraud and other charges, the Kaski police informed the Parliament Secretariat.

The Speaker is currently consulting on the matter of suspension.
