Janardan Sharma criticizes Oli government, warns of political crisis

Kathmandu, December 23 — CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ has stated that the government led by KP Oli and his coalition partners has failed.

In an interview with Ratopati, Sharma claimed that the coalition government between the two major parties, the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), was politically unfit. He concluded that the failure of Oli’s government could lead to a serious political crisis.

"Forming a government with the two major parties sends the wrong signal that the country will not be able to function," Sharma said.

"This is a serious issue. Have those in the government understood this? We are heading toward a major political crisis," he warned. "The Oli-led coalition government is politically unfit. However, since it was formed with the constitutional majority in parliament, it cannot be called unconstitutional."

Sharma further pointed out that the Oli government had failed to provide hope to the people and warned that the widespread distrust among the public could pose a serious threat to the system.
