Chinese leader Jiajun and Speaker Ghimire meet

8 million Yuan aid announced

KATHMANDU, July 24: Speaker Devraj Ghimire met with the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee Political Bureau member and Chongqing City Committee Secretary Yuan Jiajun who is visiting Nepal. Speaker Ghimire's secretariat informed that bilateral relations, economic, commercial, political, social, religious exchange and other issues were discussed in the meeting held on Monday. Speaker Ghimire expressed his gratitude to China for giving high importance to Nepal and paying a high-level visit during the meeting.

Speaker Ghimire said that Nepal is a beautiful and attractive country in the world and mentioned that even a small help from China will help in the prosperity of Nepal. Stating that Nepal is making progress in stability and development with the creation of the constitution, Speaker Ghimire emphasized the transit treaty and the development of the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung railway line which were proposed by the then KP Sharma Oli government. Mentioning that China is the economic power of the world, Speaker Ghimire expressed his happiness in starting a model program to make Nepal a grain storehouse.

CPC leader Jiajun said that he visited Nepal under the instructions of Chinese President Xi Jinping and assured that China will help Nepal to become self-sufficient in food. During his visit to Nepal, he also announced a donation of 8 million Yuan, ie 140 million NPR. Leader Jiajun also invited Speaker Ghimire to visit China. 

Speaker Ghimire and Leader Jiajun started a language lab in a program held at LRI School Kalanki on Monday.
