Lamahi to set up snakebite treatment centre

Lamahi, Dang – A snakebite treatment centre will be set up in Lamahi, Dang. The centre will be run by Lamahi Hospital at the initiative of the Deukhuri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and in coordination with various governmental and non-governmental sectors, said the CCI President Ratna Prasad Shrestha. 

For the establishment of the centre, the Lamahi municipality has released Rs 2.5 million and over Rs 500 thousand has been collected from a fair organised by the CCI, Deukhuri, he said. 

After the establishment of the centre, the local people and people from neighbouring cities would be unburdened of visiting as far as Banke and Gorusinghe for the treatment of snakebite patients risking their lives.
