Weather Forecast: Mixed Conditions Across Nepal with Heatwaves in Terai and Rain in Hills

Kathmandu. Today, Ashad 6, mixed weather is predicted in various cities of the country. Some Terai cities will experience extreme heat with hot winds, while many cities in the hills and eastern regions, including Kathmandu, are likely to have thunderstorms and lightning with rain.
According to the weather forecast, western Terai cities like Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi will experience extreme heat this afternoon. The weather report mentions that a 'hot wind' will blow in both these cities. Nepalgunj is predicted to have the highest maximum temperature today, ranging from 39 to 41 degrees Celsius, and Dhangadhi's temperature is estimated to reach 38 to 40 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, Biratnagar, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, Simara, and Janakpur will also have hot days this afternoon. During the night, the weather in most of these cities will be mostly clear. However, Simara and Janakpur, which will have hot days, have a chance of light rain with thunderstorms at night.

On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain in most of the hilly and eastern cities of the country. This afternoon, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Biratnagar, Jomsom, Dharan, Jiri, and Taplejung are predicted to have moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning. The probability of rain in these places is estimated to be between 40 to 60 percent. Likewise, Dadeldhura, Dipayal, and Jumla will experience light rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoon.

During the night, moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected to continue in cities like Pokhara, Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Taplejung. The weather in Jomsom, Dadeldhura, Dipayal, and Jumla will be partly cloudy at night. Jumla will have the lowest minimum temperature at night, between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, while Nepalgunj will have the highest minimum temperature, between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
