Sadar Zoo in Jawalakhel Closed Indefinitely Due to Bird Flu

Kathmandu. Sadar Zoo located in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur has been closed indefinitely from today. Zoo chief Satyanarayan Sah informed Ratopati that the zoo has been completely closed until further notice after bird flu infection was confirmed in the wild animals within the zoo premises. 

The zoo administration, which is under the National Trust for Nature Conservation, has also issued a public notice to close the zoo.

'To prevent the infection from spreading further among the wild animals inside the zoo and to minimize the potential risk to humans, observation has been completely closed for the time being,' said Sah.
