Nepali Congress Directs Overseas Chapters to Prepare for 15th General Convention

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress has directed all its Nepali Janasamparka Samiti (Nepali Public Relations Committees) abroad to focus on the preparation for the 15th General Convention and updating active memberships.

Party General Secretary and Convener of the Membership Management Central Committee, Pradip Poudel, issued a circular instructing the overseas Janasamparka Samitis to expedite tasks including updating memberships and submitting levies.

According to the circular issued by Congress, Janasamparka Samitis where conventions are yet to be held must enter the details of renewal and new active memberships into the central system by the upcoming Ashad 10, 2083. For committees that have already completed their conventions, the deadline is set until the end of Shrawan, 2083.

As per the Nepali Congress Constitution 2017 (as amended), a new arrangement has been made for the representation of Janasamparka Samitis in the upcoming 15th General Convention. The circular states that the number of General Convention and Mahasamiti members will be determined based on the number of active members, as per the provisions in the regulations.

Furthermore, arrangements will be made for members of the Janasamparka Samitis to participate as observers in the 15th General Convention. The decision on the number of observers to be included will be made by the Central Working Committee based on the membership numbers of the Janasamparka Samitis.

The circular mentions that the membership fee for active members and the levy amount for office bearers and members of the Janasamparka Samitis must be compulsorily deposited into the party's central account. The fee equivalent to the number of members must be submitted after all details are entered into the central online system.

Congress has directed that the Janasamparka Samitis must convene a meeting to set the date for the convention only after the list is approved by the Central Membership Management Committee, and that the decided date must be sent to the central office for approval, adhering to the legal provisions.
