Three children feared buried in landslide

Salyan – Three children of a family have been buried after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall buried their house on Sunday night. 


Lalita Dangi,10, seven-year-old Lalit Dangi and four-year-old Menaka Dangi, the children of Balram Dangi are missing since the Dangi's house in Okhreni Mulkhola of ward no. 12 in Bagchaur municipality was swept away by a mudslide, police said. The children were in the kitchen as their parents were milking buffaloes in the nearby cowshed when the incident took place. The parents were also injured and are undergoing treatment at Salyan district hospital. 


The area is still experiencing landslips hence rescue work has been difficult, according to ward Chairman Dipak Oli. 
Meanwhile, a police team from the Simkholi police post and Area Police Office, Tharmare has left for the site, which is around five hours walk from there, according to DSP at the District Police Office, Salyan Birendra Bahadur Shahi.
