Finance Minister Presents Budget to Federal Parliament

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament today. The government, formed with approximately a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21, is presenting its first budget.< /p>

The Ministry of Finance has stated that the budget construction has been based on the party's election manifesto, the 100-point governance reform action plan made public after forming the government, and the priorities and principles of the appropriation bill presented in the parliament. The suggestions of the members of both houses of the Federal Parliament, the commitments expressed by the Rastriya Swatantra Party in the election, and the government's roadmap for good governance have also been considered as the main basis of the budget.< /p>

In accordance with the practice of presenting the budget on the occasion of Republic Day every year on Jestha 15th since the issuance of the new constitution, the Finance Minister is scheduled to present the budget at 4 PM today in the multipurpose hall at Singha Durbar, informed Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat.< /p>

This year's budget aims to be more organized, transparent, and result-oriented. The National Planning Commission had set a budget ceiling of approximately 18 kharba 90 arba rupees for the upcoming fiscal year. It has been stated that the opinions and suggestions of the concerned bodies have been given due place in the budget. The budget for the current fiscal year was 19 kharba 64 arba rupees, the size of which was reduced to approximately 16 kharba 88 arba rupees through a mid-term review by Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal of the government formed after the movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.< /p>
