Gajendra Narayan Singh Industrial Estate padlocked for indefinite period

Rajbiraj –Gajendra Narayan Singh Industrial Estate Management at Rupani rural municipality-5 of Saptari district has been padlocked for an indefinite period, putting for six-month demands including reform in industrial sector.

Proprietors of the industries operated in the industrial Estate have been staging sit-in at the main gate of the Industrial Estate.

The six-point demands includes a separate feeder for power supply inside the industrial area, immediate construction of compound wall damaged by flood last year, arrangement of deep boring for clean drinking water and arrangement of industrial security force.

Proprietor of Koshi Polymers, Pramesh Yadav, said that they were compelled to padlock the management office after the management turned deaf ears to their frequent request to address the demands.

Similarly, proprietor of Milan Dairy, Milan Singh, said that they would padlock the office until their demands were addressed.

Industrial Area Management Office Chief Deepak Raj Acharya admitted that the works such as repairing of electricity, damaged compound wall, deployment of security forces in the industries and water boring process have been impeded in lack of adequate budget.

According to him, they have been continuously exerting pressure to the authorities concerned to address these issues. The Industrial Area was established in 2051 BS with financial support of Indian government. The entrepreneurs reasoned the Area stretched across 23 bigaha has not come into full operation mainly due to the cavalier attitude of the staffers here.

Although as many as 10 Industries could be operated in the Area spanning 23 bigaha, only five industries are currently in operation in lack of necessary facilities.
