Two Die in Motorcycle Accident on Kaligandaki Corridor

Gulmi. Two people died in a motorcycle accident on the Rudrabeni-Purtighat road section under the Kaligandaki Corridor on Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as motorcycle driver Laxman Thapa, 34, a resident of Bhustung, Ward 3, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Syangja, and Girman Singh Rana, 45, of the same place, informed Ganga Bahadur Saru, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Gulmi.

According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, the motorcycle with registration number Lu36P 3627, which was traveling from Rudrabeni towards Chemit in Thulabagar Chhaldi, Ward 1, Satyawati Rural Municipality, fell about three meters below the road around 10 PM on Sunday night.

Thapa had a head injury, while Rana had injuries to his head and legs. Both of them died last night during treatment at the Primary Health Center, Ridi, the police stated.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a police team led by Deputy Inspector Narendra Bahadur BK from the Area Police Office, Johang, and Inspector Gyan Bahadur Majhi from the Area Police Office, Ridi, immediately reached the scene. The police have taken control of the motorcycle.

The bodies were brought to the District Police Office Gulmi this morning after completing the inquest at the scene and were brought to Gulmi Hospital, Tansen, for post-mortem examination, the police said.
