Acting Kathmandu Mayor Sunita Dangol Departs for Cannes Film Festival

Kathmandu. Acting Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, is going to France to participate in the world-famous 'Cannes Film Festival'. She is going to France with the objective of formally announcing the 'Kathmandu Film Festival' to be organized by the Metropolitan City and promoting it internationally. 

Informing the executive meeting about the visit, Acting Chief Dangol said that the worldwide promotion of the film festival to be operated by the Metropolitan City is the main agenda of her visit. As a preparatory step for the international festival, the Metropolitan City is also preparing to organize 'Film Festival in Every Locality' at the local level.

According to Dangol, this program will be completely community-based. This campaign aims to reach the local level to discuss various topics related to film, music, and the overall creative industry and to create an environment in the form of a festival. It is believed that this will create a positive atmosphere for the upcoming 'Kathmandu Film Festival'. 

For the duration of her foreign visit, Acting Chief Dangol has handed over the responsibility of acting chief. Ward Chairman of Ward No. 1, Bharatlal Shrestha, has been given the responsibility of acting chief based on seniority, and she is about to depart for Cannes.
