Weather Forecast: Western and Local Winds Affecting Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, western and local winds are affecting Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Due to this influence, some places in Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces are currently experiencing rain.

This afternoon, there will be generally cloudy skies in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and moderate rain/snowfall in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi province, a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the Terai region of Koshi province.

There is also a possibility of dust storms in a few places in the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces. Temperatures are expected to rise in the plains of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, there will be generally cloudy skies in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while there will be partly cloudy skies in the mountainous region of Karnali province and in Madhesh province. The weather will remain mostly clear in the remaining hilly and Terai regions.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in one or two places in a few places in Koshi province and in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is also a possibility of dust storms in a few places in the Terai regions, the Department stated.
