Sudurpaschim Kachahari 2083 Begins in Dhangadhi

Ghodaghodi. 'Sudurpaschim Kachahari, 2083' has started in Dhangadhi. The two-day program, which began with the organization of Sudurpaschim Development Foundation and coordination of the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah.

Chief Minister Shah emphasized the need to connect youth with employment and income generation for building a prosperous Sudurpaschim and stressed the need to utilize the possibilities in the province. He said that despite limited resources, clear and implementable plans are needed to address the needs of the people.

He said that poverty, unemployment, weak infrastructure, unequal access to education and health services, youth migration, and policy implementation challenges still persist in the province. "I believe that discussions and their conclusions will provide suggestions for policy reforms to the government," said Chief Minister Shah.

On the occasion, former Chief Minister of the Provincial Government, Rajendra Singh Rawal, mentioned that despite sufficient potential in Sudurpaschim, the province has not been able to move towards prosperity. He expressed the view that the program will help in promoting the province's potential at the national and international levels.

Former Minister Naresh Shahi said that the objective of the program is to highlight the self-respect, historical heritage, and identity of Sudurpaschim. According to him, a common development perspective will be prepared by debating policy issues related to education, health, tourism, agriculture, employment, infrastructure, safe migration, and good governance.

He informed that the conclusions and suggestions received from the program will be sent to the central government to be included in the budget and policy-making process of the upcoming fiscal year. Professor Dr. Ritesh Shah of Kumaon University, India, expressed his commitment to help promote the potential of Sudurpaschim.

Sher Bahadur Shahi, Chairman of Sudurpaschim Development Foundation, emphasized the need to connect discussions and dialogues with policy reforms and said that solutions to problems should be sought through dialogue. He expressed the view that a clear vision for development, honesty, and shared responsibility are necessary.

On the occasion, Dr. Jeevan Rana, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission, provided information about the second five-year plan. After the inaugural session, debates began in various sessions on the potential, prosperity, federalism practice, challenges, and reforms of Sudurpaschim. The program was attended by the government at the federal, provincial, and local levels, the private sector, banks and financial institutions, civil society, media persons, and experts.
