Aston Villa Defeats Liverpool 4-2, Securing Champions League Spot

London. With Ollie Watkins scoring two goals and creating another, Aston Villa defeated Liverpool 4-2, securing their spot in next season's Champions League. 
In the first half, Morgan Rogers gave Villa the initial lead with an excellent strike. Shortly after the second half began, Virgil van Dijk equalized for Liverpool with a header. 

But just five minutes later, Watkins restored Villa's lead by taking advantage of Dominic Soboszlai's slip. He added his second personal goal with a strike in the 73rd minute. 

At the end of the game, with John McGinn scoring an excellent goal from outside the box, Liverpool was forced to suffer their 19th defeat in all competitions this season. Van Dijk scored another goal in injury time, but it was only a consolation for the visiting team. 

With this defeat, Arne Slot's team Liverpool's journey to next season's Champions League is still not confirmed. Now, this race appears to extend to the final day of the season, depending on the results of Brighton and Bournemouth. On the other hand, Unai Emery's Villa will now focus on the Europa League final against Freiburg in Istanbul on Wednesday, where they will be aiming to win their first major trophy in 30 years. 

Despite a big final match ahead, Emery fielded the same team that defeated Nottingham Forest in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final. Meanwhile, Liverpool's record Premier League player Alexander Isaac remained out of the squad as a precaution due to injury.
