Kaski Police Conduct Surprise Checking to Reduce Accidents

Kaski. With the objective of reducing traffic accidents and improving police performance, the District Police Office Kaski has conducted a special 'surprise checking' in Pokhara-25, Hemja.

High-ranking police officials of the district themselves came out on the road to check vehicles and question drivers. This surprise checking was conducted under the leadership of SP Naveen Karki, Chief of the District Police Office Kaski.

DSP Haribahadur Basnet, DSP Gunaraj Budhathoki of Area Police Office Danda ko Naak, and DSP Namraj Bhattarai of Ward Police Office Baidam, along with all police inspectors under the district, participated in this special campaign. During the checking, senior police officers themselves questioned drivers and passengers and checked vehicles.

SP Naveen Karki informed that this exercise has been effective in teaching practical knowledge about the correct way to check vehicles, polite behavior towards drivers and passengers, and work efficiency to police personnel of other ranks.

The Hemja section, which falls under the Mid-Hilly Highway, has recently become popular as a 'viral road'. DSP Haribahadur Basnet, Information Officer of Kaski Police, stated that special checking was carried out because vehicle speeds are high and the risk of accidents is high on this road section.

While the officers were conducting the checking, other security personnel observed them closely. The police have shown such proactivity to ensure road safety and enforce full compliance with traffic rules.
