China Sees Bizarre 'High Skull' Beauty Trend Involving Acid Injections and Surgery

Beijing. Nobody thought that having a long or tall skull would one day be considered a standard of beauty, but now such a strange trend has started in China. 

Due to this fashion called 'High Skull', people are injecting large amounts of hyaluronic acid into the skin of their heads and even undergoing dangerous surgery to change the shape of their heads.

The concept of this strange trend is quite simple. If the distance from the hairline to the top of the skull is greater than the distance from the eyebrows to the hairline, you are considered lucky. If not, people are adopting various methods to achieve this 'face-hugging' look. 

Recently, there has been a great effort in China's beauty industry to make the top of the head, i.e., the 'crown', appear taller. For this, special hair clips to make the skull appear taller, hair sprays to increase hair volume, and various types of hairstyles have also come into the market.

But for many, such temporary measures are not enough. Despite the risks, they are opting for aggressive cosmetic procedures such as hyaluronic acid injections, plastic implants, and bone cement. Bone cement is a type of adhesive material commonly used in orthopedic surgery to fix joints. In this process of increasing the skull, an incision of 3 to 6 centimeters is made in the skin of the head, and various materials are placed inside it. Some people are even using advanced 3D printed implants like PEEK, titanium plates, or bone grafting.

The use of bone cement to make the skull taller is considered the most controversial and dangerous. In this, surgeons make a hole in the head and inject material, shaping it before it hardens. 

Similarly, although injecting hyaluronic acid is considered relatively less risky, it has its own problems. Chinese social media is filled with horrifying stories of permanent hair loss on the head due to such injections.

Doctors have warned that injecting large amounts of hyaluronic acid is fatal to health. It can increase pressure on the tissues and block blood circulation to the hair follicles, causing people to suffer from permanent baldness.

China has seen strange beauty trends like protruding ears before, but the high skull has become the most bizarre and disturbing trend so far. 

According to news agencies, this trend is causing serious physical and mental health risks among the Chinese youth.
