MP Sunar Criticizes Government's Policy and Program as Directionless

Kathmandu. Member of Parliament Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar has commented that the government's policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year is directionless. 

Participating in the discussion on the policy and program in the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, he said that the government's plan has not been able to provide a clear framework on which direction the country's economy will be taken. 

MP Sunar mentioned that although the policy and program should have presented a roadmap for the next five years, it has not been able to do so. He stated that while prioritizing the technology sector is positive, the overall policy and program have not been able to generate enthusiasm among citizens. 

Speaking at the meeting, he said, 'It is not clear where the country's economy is intended to be taken in the government's policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year. There should have been a clear framework on what to do from the first year to the fifth year, but nothing like that is visible.' 

He commented that although it is positive that the government's policy and program are not too ambitious, it has disappointed citizens. Claiming that the program for the upcoming fiscal year is even more unhealthy than the previous one, he said that no framework reaching the public level is visible. 

He added, 'It has not been able to generate any enthusiasm among the public. It does not seem to have created any framework to reach the level of citizens. Therefore, the budget of Jestha 15 will also come within its periphery, won't it?' 

Similarly, MP Sunar also commented that the presented policy and program have not been able to generate any hope among the oppressed communities. He accused the program brought by the government of being merely ritualistic and that it has not been able to take a concrete direction to solve the country's economic crisis.
