Opposition CPN-UML Demands Salary Hike for Employees

Kathmandu. The opposition CPN-UML has demanded an increase in the salaries and allowances of employees. The demand for an increase in salary and allowances has been made, stating that the salary, which should be increased every three years, has not been increased in four years. 

While discussing the amendment proposal to the government's policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/84, CPN-UML MP Pushparaj Kandel, who is also a former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, said it was unfortunate that the issue of increasing government employees' salaries was not included in the policy and program. 

Kandel also criticized the policy and program for not mentioning the 16th Five-Year Plan, not mentioning national pride projects except for two, not mentioning the sustainable development goals and the issue of graduation to a developing nation, and not mentioning the issue of federalism strengthening.
