CPN Chief Whip Dulal Calls for Socialism-Oriented Economy in Govt Policy

Kathmandu. . Communist Party of Nepal Chief Whip Yuvraj Dulal has stated that the government's policy and program should carry a clear political destination of a socialism-oriented economy in line with the spirit of the constitution. .

He emphasized that while the government's goal of building a prosperous nation through good governance, public service delivery, and equitable distribution is positive, its ideological foundation and programmatic basis must be clear. .

He commented that the principle of a egalitarian society based on the proportional and inclusive principles guided by the constitution has been overlooked in the policy and program. . Dulal stated that although programs like the government's aim to generate 30,000 megawatts of electricity in 10 years and achieve an average economic growth of 7 percent are attractive, there is no concrete basis for their fulfillment. .

He drew attention to the government's lack of focus on the utilization of the country's forest resources and mineral wealth. He argued that the excavation and utilization of mineral resources such as uranium, granite, marble, iron, and petroleum available domestically, rather than external concepts like carbon trading, would strengthen the national economy.

Chief Whip Dulal also demanded compensation and insurance arrangements for the damage caused by wild animals like monkeys and wild boars to the agricultural sector. He proposed legal arrangements to control such wild animals and encourage farmers towards agriculture. .

Furthermore, he stressed the need to immediately advance the process of 'Provincial Police Adjustment' to assign the responsibility of peace and security to the provincial governments in accordance with the constitution for the strengthening of the federal democratic republic. He claimed that a stable economy cannot be built without prioritizing domestic production and exports.
