Three arrested for defrauding job seekers

Kathmandu. Police have arrested 3 people for defrauding by sending them for foreign employment.

Those arrested include Sagar Gautam, 37, from Damak Municipality-2, Jhapa, residing in Tokha Municipality-3, Kathmandu; Shambhu Gautam, 32, from Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-10, Dang, residing in Tokha Municipality-1, Kathmandu; and Sanam Gurung, 37, from Siddicharan Municipality-4, Okhaldhunga, residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-29.

Among those arrested, Sagar took 4 lakh 58 thousand from 1 victim saying he would send them to UAE, Shambhu took 15 lakh 90 thousand from 1 victim saying he would send them to New Zealand, and Sanam took 24 lakh rupees from 2 victims saying he would send them to Canada and became out of contact.

Based on the complaint of the victims, the police dispatched from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested Sagar from Tokha Municipality-3, Kathmandu on Monday, Shambhu from Tokha Municipality-2, and Sanam from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-12 on Tuesday.

Police said that they have been sent to the Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal, Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
