Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Resigns

Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Dr. Chandika Bhatta has resigned. Ministry spokesperson Netra Prasad Subedi informed Ratopati that the resignation letter was submitted to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies on Wednesday. 

The government has initiated the process of abolishing a large number of political appointments through the 'Special Arrangement Ordinance on Removal of Public Office Holders, 2083'. Although a decision was made to abolish all political appointments, the leadership of the Oil Corporation was not included in it, but Bhatta himself paved the way for the government by resigning. 

Bhatta was appointed by the Council of Ministers on February 17, 2080 (Bikram Sambat). Prior to that, he had also served as Executive Director in 2070 (Bikram Sambat). During his tenure, Nepal Oil Corporation started the automated pricing system on October 1, 2071 (Bikram Sambat).
