Election Commission Recognizes Merger of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has recognized the merger between the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal led by Upendra Yadav and the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal led by Mahanta Thakur.

The formal merger of Jaspa Nepal and Losapa Nepal was announced on Poush 27. Informing the Election Commission about the merger of the two parties, both parties participated in the elections held on Falgun 21 as a unified entity.

However, the Election Commission had sought clarification from Jaspa Nepal regarding some leaders being in two parties in the documents submitted for the merger and other missing documents. After submitting all the missing documents to the commission, the party received the letter of authenticity today, said party leader Shailendra Sah.

In the previous merger process, the Janata Pragatisheel Party led by Hridayesh Tripathi and the Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party led by Bhrigeshchandra Lal were also involved, but their parties are not included in the recognition given by the Election Commission now.

Party leader Dr. Surendra Jha said, 'Tamloapa Chairman Bhrigeshchandra Lal had already announced his separation from the party merger by issuing a statement. There was no question of including him. As for Tripathi ji, he could not be immediately included in this merger process because he did not dissolve his old party.'

Jha said that the Janata Pragatisheel Party is also in existence in the Election Commission, and since the same person cannot be in two places, that party has not been included in the current merger process. He stated that Tripathi will be included in Jaspa Nepal after he dissolves the Janata Pragatisheel Party registered with the Election Commission.

Another leader, Sah, said that the Election Commission has also sent information about the merger between Jaspa Nepal and Losapa Nepal to the Federal Parliament Secretariat and Provincial Assembly Secretariats. He said that with this decision of the Election Commission, the merger will be finalized in the provinces as well.

With the finalization of the merger process, the working committee of Jaspa Nepal has become 54 members. It includes patron Mahanta Thakur and chairman Upendra Yadav, while all other members are members.
