UML Lawmaker Guru Baral Demands Correction of House Rule 219, Cites Misuse of National Flag

Kathmandu. UML lawmaker Guru Baral has demanded that House of Representatives Rule 219 be corrected as it is empty. In Wednesday's meeting, showing House of Representatives Rule 219, he demanded that it be corrected saying, 'This is empty. Such negligence should not be done'.

Similarly, he stated that the national flag of the country has been misused a lot and has been seen being used to throw stones in protests. He objected that although the Speaker had made a ruling to remove some MPs' expressions from the record, other unparliamentary words were not removed. 'One party cannot be insulted,' Baral said.

Another UML lawmaker, Padmna Aryal, demanded a ruling for the Prime Minister, who is within the country, to be present in the House. In the second meeting on Wednesday, opposition MPs were obstructing the meeting regarding the Prime Minister's presence.

During that time, Speaker DP Aryal repeatedly urged the opposition to sit down and reminded them of the rules. During that time, he reminded them that there is a provision for another minister to respond in the absence of the Prime Minister.

Similarly, the leader of the main opposition party, Bhishma Raj Angdembe, also demanded that the Prime Minister come to the meeting.
