Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Lima Adhikari Proposes New Economic Roadmap

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Lima Adhikari has put forward the idea of creating a new economic roadmap by integrating Nepal's originality and technology. 

During the zero hour of the House of Representatives, MP Adhikari stated that the country must move beyond the mindset of running the nation solely on remittances, ending the painful situation of emptied hills and silent villages due to youth migration. 

She proposed advancing the coolness of Sagarmatha and the peace of the earth as a strong basis for the economy. MP Adhikari said that Nepal should now broaden the scope of 'Work in Nepal' and invite the world to 'Work from Nepal'. 

In this era of technology, she suggested that the government immediately implement a digital nomad visa to attract the world's brightest minds. She claimed this would provide foreign experts with an environment to work while enjoying the diversity of Nepal's terai, hills, and mountains. 

“In this era of technology, let's attract the world's brightest minds by giving them digital nomad visas to work amidst the diversity of the terai, madhesh, hills, and mountains, which are rich in our art, culture, and festivals,” Adhikari further said, “When a foreign expert sits in the lap of Namche, the courtyard of Rara, and Ramaroshan, and builds software for the world, our hills, our villages will become 'digital villages'. Our youth will learn world-class skills while sitting in their own courtyards. This will not only bring dollars, Mr. Speaker, but will also bring vibrancy and prosperity to the emptied villages. Therefore, the government should implement the digital nomad visa immediately.”
