Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms and Light to Moderate Rain Expected in Major Cities

Kathmandu. According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the major cities of the country on Tuesday.

Today afternoon, Pokhara, Jiri, and Taplejung have the highest probability of rain, i.e., 70 percent. Moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is estimated in all three cities.

Looking at the condition of other cities this afternoon, there is a 60 percent possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, and Jomsom. The possibility of rain in Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Jumla, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, Simara, and Dharan is 40 percent.

Similarly, there is a 30 percent chance of rain in Birendranagar, Biratnagar, and Janakpur, and a 20 percent chance of rain in Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj.

Regarding temperature, the maximum temperature in Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, and Bhairahawa is predicted to reach the highest, between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, this afternoon, while the minimum temperature will be 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in Jomsom.

Looking at the weather forecast for tonight, there is a zero percent chance of rain in the western Terai cities of Dipayal, Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, and Ghorahi, and only partial clouds will be present in these places. There is a 60 percent possibility of rain with thunderstorms and lightning in Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Taplejung tonight.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain tonight in Jumla, Bhairahawa, Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Jomsom, Dharan, Janakpur, and Jiri, and a 30 percent chance in Dadeldhura and Simara. The minimum temperature tonight will be the lowest in Jomsom, between 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, and in Jiri, between 9 to 11 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature in Nepalgunj will be the highest, between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.
