9 Indian Citizens Injured in EV Car Accident in Makwanpur

Makwanpur. 9 Indian citizens were injured in an EV car accident on the Sisneri-Daksinkali road section located in Lambagar, Ward No. 2 of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality in Makwanpur. Three people are in critical condition, police said. According to the District Police Office Makwanpur, the accident occurred around 11:10 PM on Monday when an EV car, Ba.Pra.01-033 Cha 5258, coming from Kathmandu towards Hetauda, had its brakes fail and hit the right-side wall of the road. After the accident, a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Manojkumar Yadav from Khanikhola Police Post and a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Rambali Sah from Sisneri Police Post reached the scene and carried out the rescue. According to the police, 11 people including the driver were in the car. Among them were 9 Indian citizens and 2 Nepali citizens including the driver. Police said all the injured in the accident were rescued and sent to Kathmandu for treatment. According to police, 60-year-old Ram Binay Jha, 70-year-old Nirmala Devi, and 55-year-old Anita Devi from Darbhanga, India, were seriously injured. They sustained head injuries, police said. Similarly, 56-year-old Prajha Devi sustained an injury to her left arm, 52-year-old Rudrakumari Jha to her right leg, and 74-year-old Chhatradhar Chaudhary to both hands. Their condition is moderate, police said. Likewise, 67-year-old Hamranath Jha, 66-year-old Amarnath Jha, and 42-year-old Anita Jha sustained minor injuries. All the injured were sent to B&B Hospital Kathmandu for initial rescue and treatment. Later, they were admitted to Alka Hospital Lalitpur for treatment, police said. The EV driver, 30-year-old Pintu Singh, a resident of Laxminia Municipality-4 in Dhanusha, is in police custody. Police said another Nepali citizen in the car, 22-year-old Asan Safi, returned home on his own in a normal condition.
