Two Arrested for Murder in Chitwan

Chitwan. Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder with a sharp weapon.

Those arrested include 27-year-old Krishnabahadur Khadka of Gaidakot Municipality-17, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), and 28-year-old Samrat Gurung, originally from Jagatbhanjyang Village Development Committee Ward No. 4 in Syangja and currently residing in Pokhara Metropolitan City-15.

According to the Chief of the District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Govinda Puri, they were recently arrested from Ashok Hotel located in Pokhara Metropolitan City-8. Among those arrested, Khadka allegedly attacked 30-year-old Ashish Khanal of Saina-6, Rupandehi Municipality, with a sharp weapon in front of Sambhav Auto Store at Buddhochok, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7, on the 22nd of Baisakh, resulting in his death.

Preliminary police investigation revealed that the dispute between Khadka and Khanal was over financial transactions and a mobile phone, he said.

Puri stated that Khanal's mobile phone was being used by Khadka, and when Khanal asked for it back, a dispute arose on social media. Gurung was arrested for allegedly helping Khadka to hide. Both have been charged with attempted murder and further investigation has begun, he said.
