Landslide Blocks Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road in Myagdi

Myagdi. The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, which connects Mustang to the national highway, has been blocked since this morning due to a landslide in Mahabhir of Annapurna Rural Municipality-7 in Myagdi.

The 76-kilometer-long Beni-Jomsom road has lost direct transport connectivity due to the landslide of stones and soil. Vehicles traveling from Beni to Mustang and from Jomsom to Beni have been stopped midway due to the blocked road.

Local residents, as well as tourists and pilgrims visiting Mustang and Muktinath, have been affected. Sagar Timilsina, Information Officer at the District Police Office, informed that efforts are underway to clear the blocked road by mobilizing equipment from the Road Department.

Landslides have been occurring from the cliff about 500 meters above the road in Mahabhir. The landslide, which occurs with mud even with normal rainfall, blocks the road and increases the risk of accidents at other times.
