Three arrested in connection with two theft incidents in Sanepa

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a gang involved in two theft incidents in Sanepa, Ward No.-2 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Three people have been arrested on charges of theft in the rented house of Minu Jha in Sanepa about a month and a half ago and in the rented house of Babita Chhinal Pariyar a few days ago.

Those arrested include Samir Chaudhary, 24, from Khadak Municipality-10, Saptari, currently residing in Sanepa; Pooja Sharma Joshi, 48, from Kupandol; and Shravankumar, 45, an Indian citizen residing in New Road.

District Police Range, Lalitpur's SP Gautam Mishra told Ratopati that Samir Chaudhary was assisted by Pooja Sharma in selling the stolen gold jewelry. Shravankumar, who operates a gold shop in Pyukha, has been arrested on charges of purchasing stolen jewelry. SP Mishra informed that Samir Chaudhary was arrested on Sunday and Pooja Sharma on Monday.

Police recovered NPR 2.2 million in cash from Shravan Kumar's gold shop, the source of which is unknown. SP Mishra stated that he could not disclose the source of the amount and preliminary investigation suggests it was obtained from selling stolen jewelry. Police have taken the accused into custody from the court and are investigating.

Samir has been found to be involved in 3 thefts in Lalitpur so far.
