Government Announces Startup Nepal Portal for Business Services and Agricultural Reforms

Kathmandu. The government has announced that it will provide services including company registration, tax exemption, and seed money in a single day through the 'Startup Nepal' portal to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.

President Ram Chandra Paudel made this ambitious plan public while presenting the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

The government has adopted a policy to promote multilateral investment to revive the rural economy and develop agriculture as a respected enterprise. President Paudel stated that production increase and cost reduction will be achieved by intensifying package-based production systems and agricultural mechanization to become self-reliant in food grains. The government's goal is to directly connect agricultural produce with industries and markets by developing specialized production areas to attract manpower returning from foreign employment into domestic agricultural enterprises.

As a relief to farmers, the government has pledged to set the minimum support price for agricultural produce before sowing and to implement it effectively. This is believed to end market uncertainty and encourage farmers in production.
