Weather Forecast: Rain and Snow Expected in Various Regions

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds, along with a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern part of Nepal, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated.

Due to this influence, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as other hilly and mountainous regions, are generally experiencing cloudy skies. The remaining Terai regions have partly cloudy skies. 

This afternoon, Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with the country's mountainous and hilly regions, will generally be cloudy, while the remaining Terai regions will have partly cloudy skies. In some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi province and other provinces, and in a few places in Madhesh province, along with one or two places in the remaining Terai regions, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rain and snowfall.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly regions will generally be cloudy, and the Terai regions will have partly cloudy skies. In a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rain and snow, and in one or two places in Madhesh province and other mountainous regions, there is a possibility of light rain and snow with thunderstorms, the Department has stated.
