Former President and Four Former Prime Ministers Use Government Vehicles

Kathmandu. It has been found that one former president and 4 former prime ministers are using government vehicles provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 According to the Internal Administration, Vehicle and Ceremony Management Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the ministry is providing them with vehicles as per the decision of the Council of Ministers.

According to the branch, Nepal's first president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav is using 2 vehicles provided by the ministry.  

Similarly, former prime ministers Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Jhalanath Khanal and Khilraj Regmi are using one vehicle each provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs based on the decision of the Council of Ministers.  

Regarding this, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had sent a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs requesting the details of VIPs using government vehicles. The ministry has informed the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in response to that letter, the ministry said.  

Ministry spokesperson joint secretary Anand Kafle informed Ratopati that they have sent the response regarding the provision of vehicles requested by the Prime Minister's Office. Similarly, on Wednesday, former prime minister KP Sharma Oli returned the vehicle he was using in violation of the criteria to the Prime Minister's Office.
