Weather Forecast: Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds, along with a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern part of Nepal, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated.

Due to this influence, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the Himalayan region of Koshi Province, are experiencing generally cloudy skies, while the remaining parts have partly cloudy skies. 

This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country will generally be cloudy. The Terai region will have partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rain and snowfall in some places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the Himalayan and hilly parts of the remaining provinces, and thunderstorms with light rain in a few places in the remaining Terai regions.

Tonight, Koshi Province and the Himalayan regions of the country will generally be cloudy, and the remaining parts will have partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rain in a few places in Koshi Province, and thunderstorms with light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Madhesh and the remaining provinces.
