CPN (UML) Chairman Oli Meets Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly Members Amidst Dispute

Kathmandu. The dialogue between CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly members has concluded without any conclusion. The Chairman had summoned the assembly members to his residence in Gundu on Wednesday following a dispute over the issue of changing the party leader.

Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta informed that no conclusion was reached in the discussion that lasted for about four hours. According to Bhatta, the discussion concluded with a plan to meet again on Friday.

"No conclusion was reached in the discussion. The Chairman did not say anything. He listened to everyone's views. It concluded with a plan to resolve the dispute on Friday," Bhatta told Ratopati.

All assembly members, including party leader Rajendrasingh Rawal, were present in the discussion. Assembly members had lobbied Chairman Oli in favor of changing the leader, expressing dissatisfaction with the working style of Rawal, who is the former Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim.

Deputy leader Santoshkumari Sharma (Thapa), Chief Whip Chakrabahadur Malla, and other assembly members are actively vying to become the leader by removing Rawal from the position. However, Santoshkumari Sharma Thapa informed that no decision was made regarding the change of party leader in today's meeting.

"We presented our respective views to the Chairman. He (the Chairman) only listened. He did not say anything. The next meeting will decide whether to change the party leader through consensus or proceed through an electoral process," said Thapa.
