Rastriya Swatantra Party MP KP Khanal Clarifies House Construction

Kathmandu. Recently, there has been various commentary on social media regarding the three-story house of Rastriya Swatantra Party MP KP Khanal. After the picture went viral calling it 'Balen's friend's house', Khanal has given an explanation about the source of construction and the land in his defense.

In a conversation with Ratopati, Khanal stated that the house was not built with his personal earnings but was the fruit of his parents' decades-long hard work. When asked if the house was built on encroached land, Khanal mentioned that most houses in the Terai region of Sudurpaschim are built on such lands. 

He said, 'This is not built on any public land or government office land. This house is on land where we have been living for decades but do not have a land ownership certificate. I have numbered land in my hilly region.' He recalled that during the election, he had spoken about being one of those who did not have a land ownership certificate.

Clarifying the financial source of the house construction, Khanal said, 'The entire income source for this is from my mother and father working day and night in India for the last 10 years, earning 50,000 Indian Rupees per month, which is still incomplete.'

He expressed sadness that questions were raised about his family's hard-earned money while he is moving forward with the feeling of doing something in the country.
