Barcelona Extends Unbeaten Run, Strengthens Grip on La Liga Title

Madrid. Barcelona has maintained its unbeaten run and rhythm in the Spanish La Liga, strengthening its grip on the title.

By defeating Osasuna 2-1 in a thrilling match on Saturday night, Barcelona has managed to build a clear 14-point lead at the top of the league table. Hansi Flick's team is now just two points away from becoming La Liga champions for the second consecutive time.

The match, held at Osasuna's home ground, Estadio El Sadar, was highly competitive. Although the first half ended goalless, Barcelona adopted an aggressive strategy in the second half.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski, who came on as a substitute, gave the team an initial lead with a header from an excellent cross provided by Marcus Rashford. Just five minutes later, Ferran Torres scored by utilizing a precise pass from young midfielder Fermin Lopez, putting Barcelona ahead 2-0.

Towards the end of the game, the home team Osasuna attempted a comeback. Raul Garcia scored to reduce the deficit from a beautiful cross by Abel Bretones, but it was not enough to stop Barcelona's victory. Barcelona registered its 10th consecutive league win with a composed defense in the remaining time. This victory has brought Barcelona very close to the title.

Now, Barcelona's title journey has become mathematically interesting. If Real Madrid fails to defeat Espanyol in the match to be held on Sunday, Barcelona will be officially declared champion today.

However, if Real Madrid wins, Barcelona will only need to avoid defeat against Real Madrid itself in the match to be held at home on May 10.
