Theft of Rs 2.15 Million Worth of Valuables from Two Houses in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. On the same day, valuables worth approximately 2.15 million rupees were stolen from two separate locations in Kathmandu. 

The police have stated that thieves targeted two houses in Shankharapur and Tokha municipalities, stealing gold jewelry and cash.

A large amount of valuables was stolen from the house of Ganga Maya Deula, 60, residing in Shankharapur Municipality-7, on Friday evening. According to the police, valuables worth approximately 1.253 million rupees, including various gold jewelry and cash, were stolen from Deula's house. It is preliminarily estimated that the thieves took advantage of the time when no one was home in the evening to steal the valuables.

Similarly, a theft also occurred at the house of Laxmi Shrestha, residing near Thapa Pul in Tokha Municipality-3, on Friday night. The police have mentioned that valuables worth 906,000 rupees, including gold jewelry and cash, were stolen from Shrestha's house. 

The individuals involved in the theft are currently absconding, and the police have intensified their search for them. The District Police Complex, Kathmandu, has informed that they are increasing surveillance on suspicious individuals based on the nature of the incidents and are conducting necessary investigations in this regard.
