Susta students compelled to enrol in Indian schools

Nawalparasi –Children from Susta village of west Nawalparasi are compelled to enrol in Indian schools for education above grade six.

Nepali students are forced to do so in pursuit of education in upper grades since Janata Dalit Primary School – the only school based in Susta rural municipality-5 offers classes up to six only.

Janata School Principal Udaya Bahadur Ruchal informed that the students are taking enrolment in the schools of Bhaisalotan Bazaar of Bihar State, India for no arrangement of upper grade education in Susta.

Roughly 70 percent students are compelled to get admission in different schools based in Indian Bazaar now.
Owing to inadequate number of teaching staffs with short of necessary physical infrastructure, the classes above grade 6 could not be run in the school of Susta, shared Susta Education Resource Person Tankanath Dhakal.

The unavailability of classes beyond grade six in Susta has resulted in exodus of Nepali students to nearby Indian Bazaar seeking educational opportunity. ---
