Construction of Water Park begins in Nepalgunj

Nepalgunj – Works for the construction of water park at Dhambojhi of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-1 have begun. 


The water park is being constructed at a cost of Rs 700 million. Chairperson of Nepalginj Town Development Committee, Gopal Pun, said they have set a target to complete the construction of water park within four years. Out of 65 bighas of land for water Park, pond has covered 10 bighas. 


Pun added, "Pond area will be expanded for boating and swimming. Various infrastructures including attractive and beautiful garden, children parks will be constructed." 


Ward Chairperson of Nepalgunj Sub- Metropolitan City-1, Pramod Rijal, said the construction of the water park was expected to help development of Nepalgunj. He hoped, "Dhambojhi chowk would be facelifted and business activities increased after the construction of the water park." 


The Surkhet road of Nepalgunj and Gulariya road of Bardiya would be linked to the water park. Although plan for the construction of water park was prepared 10 years back, it was not proceeded due to the dispute of land compensation.

 
Locals said the construction of new kind of park was necessary to attract domestic and foreign tourists and to make strong basis for development, establishing the identity of Nepalgunj.
