Business associations protest at FNCCI headquarters over membership delays

Kathmandu. Representatives from 18 different sectoral associations and federations staged a protest at the central office of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Teku, demanding membership. Frustrated by the long-standing delay in the membership process, the representatives also chanted slogans against the federation's leadership.

The FNCCI central executive committee is scheduled to meet today, where a final decision regarding the membership of these 18 organizations is expected. The business representatives have launched this protest to increase pressure on the leadership and prevent any potential unfavorable decisions or further stalling.

The protesters alleged that while the federation should be a common institution for all industrialists and businesspeople, it is attempting to exclude new organizations due to the vested interests of a few individuals.
