Nepali Congress Leader Khatiwada Urges Unity Following Supreme Court Verdict

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Ramhari Khatiwada has stated that everyone must accept and move forward following the Supreme Court's verdict. Speaking to Ratopati after the court's decision, leader Khatiwada emphasized the need to set aside internal party disputes and seek unity from a new perspective. 

Leader Khatiwada, who is aligned with the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction, noted that in a rule of law, the judiciary's decision is final, stating, 'Everyone must now abide by the Supreme Court's verdict. Accepting this and strengthening the party further is the wise course of action at this moment.' 

Referring to the party's current state, he remarked that the Congress is currently in a weakened position. Therefore, he believes there is no alternative but for everyone to work together moving forward.

On Friday, the Supreme Court granted legitimacy to the committee led by Gagan Thapa, which was elected through a special general convention, regarding the dispute over the official status of the Congress. With this verdict, the writ petition filed by the Deuba faction has been dismissed.
