Nepali Congress General Secretary Poudel Respects Supreme Court Verdict, Emphasizes Party Responsibility

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradip Poudel has stated that he respects the Supreme Court's verdict, noting that it adds further responsibility to the party and its leadership. Responding to Ratopati following the court's decision, General Secretary Poudel remarked that in a democratic system, the judiciary's decision is paramount and must be accepted cordially.

General Secretary Poudel said, ‘The Supreme Court's verdict is acceptable to us. It is our duty to abide by the court's order and embrace the rule of law. With this verdict, we feel that a new and serious responsibility has been added to us.’

He emphasized that internal party unity and addressing the sentiments of well-wishers are the primary needs at this moment. Poudel noted that the leadership's main obligation is to move forward by uniting all party colleagues, workers, and well-wishers who have faith in the Congress. On Friday, in a dispute regarding the official status of the Congress, the Supreme Court granted legitimacy to the committee led by Gagan Thapa, which was elected through a special convention. Poudel is also the General Secretary of the same working committee.
